No one else is allowed access to your space, not even the self storage
company (unless you have authorised access and provided a spare key).
In fact, no one even knows what you are storing, and your personal
details are always kept confidential. Nobody else has access to move
or use or interfere with your goods, because they are in your own
private space.
Self storage offers flexibility in your rental period. You can stay as long as you like without committing to a fixed lease term. Renting a self storage space requires rental to be paid in advance (usually monthly), and a refundable deposit (at some Centres) , and you keep renting the space for as long as you need to.
